okay so i have to admit.
i eat breakfast.
every morning.
and because it's the school year already over here, we try to eat a well-balanced breakfast every single morning.
yes, it's hard but we do it.
every once in a while my walk goes over in time in the morning (most likely because i'm dragging) and i start the morning routine a few minutes behind schedule...and because i am who i am, i most likely will choose a breakfast that takes a little longer than normal case in point: waffles in the waffle iron. not because i mean to but just because i do stupid things like that sometimes. we have to get scriptures in there and we have to make sure boys are properly groomed...so yeah sometimes i don't get to sit down in time before we have to get a move on to the next thing.
those days i normally eat a yogurt (and a diet coke!) and i throw a handful of granola for the extra calories and to tie me over till i can get something a little more "meaty" something or other for lunch.
now it's your turn.
tell me for a chance to win $100 visa card from kelloggs and blogher:

ReplyDeleteI love toaster struedels! Most days they are the only thing I can stomach. NOT a breakfast person.
ReplyDeletereadyamyfire@gmail.com
I can't really eat much at breakfast- I usually have a soy latte' and a piece of fruit if I am hungry.
ReplyDeletei am a sucker for yogurt with fruit and granola. love it!!
ReplyDeletedignity_depravity@hotmail.com
I usually eat while I commute, so it's a granola bar for me most days. :)
ReplyDeleterdoran1(at)gmail(dot)com
Ok, little confession. My cup of coffee usually fills me up until about "brunch" when I eat my cereal. :o)
ReplyDeleteI am having a little give a way. Would you like to come?
Sincerely ~ Tricia
Banana every day and a granola bar.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a breakfast person. I drink a cup of chocolate milk and I'm good until noon.
ReplyDeletehlvognetz@yahoo.com
I posted about the giveaway here!
ReplyDeleterdoran1(at)gmail(dot)com
If I seriously don't have time I try to grab something with protein like a cheese stick or a handful or almonds. But most of the time I eat my cracklin' oat bran. That stuff is the best!
ReplyDeletepuebar@gmail.com
I'll eat a piece of fruit ... or last night's leftover dessert!
ReplyDeleteI'm cereal all the way! Sometimes if I'm running late I'll take some dry cereal to snack on at work.
ReplyDeleteWhen I run out of time in the morning I do the drive through for breakfast. McDonald's sausage biscuit with egg is a fave! I MUST have breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI eat a Nutri-Grain bar every morning! Strawberry!
ReplyDeleteI grab a banana to eat on my commute or dive into my stash in the desk drawer (granola bars and peanuts) if I don't manage to eat before I get to work.
ReplyDeleteHandful of almond and a string cheese until I can get something else more substantial!
ReplyDeleteI grab a Luna bar on those mornings because they're really filling, have only 180 calories, and come in tasty flavors. The only reason I don't eat one every day is because of the $1 price tag. That adds up more than a box of cereal and some milk.
ReplyDeleteIf I am in a hurry my breakfast consists of anything sitting on the counter closest to me. Fruit, granola bar, or those cupcakes, brownies and cookies. Haha.
ReplyDeletesmiley2686@hotmail.com
Not a huge breakfast fan... I make a quick breakfast shake/smoothie and take it with me!
ReplyDeletestudiojru (at) stanton (dot) net
While making my essential Mocha, I stand and down a bowl of yogurt, strawberries and homemade granola we keep on hand.

ReplyDeleteolympicsleeper@hotmail.com
My latest favorite is an iced coffee and choc chip muffin! Yummy! kelly@bucksrealtor.com
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't have the time in the morning to sit down for a hot breakfast. I usually make a cup of coffee to go and grab a piece of fruit for my drive to work.
ReplyDeleteamandacmelton@gmail.com
I keep a bag of granola at my desk at work and I will bring greek yogurt and blueberries from home for days like that! I also make baked oatmeal at the first of the week & then just warm it up when I need it.
ReplyDeleteLet's try this again: My favorite breakfast is a slice of multi-grain toast (usually Fiber One), spread with a low fat peanut butter, and totally covered with banana slices. Keeps me full until lunch. My 6 yr old daughter loves those little microwavable cans of Campbell's soups for breakfast, that you drink from the can. :)
ReplyDeletekhaney2847@comcast.net
I love to sit down and eat some nutrigrain waffles and a few cups of coffee... but when I can't, I grab a banana & a Cliff Mojo bar to toss in my purse!
ReplyDeletei am not a big breakfast eater, but being pregnant, i must keep my energy up. i always start out with a small cup of coffee and then an hour or so later, eat a piece of fruit or some yogurt with granola at my desk in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I'm a granola bar and banana in the car gal. (Although we bust out the made-to-order omelets on weekends.) Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI make a quick smoothie, something can go room to room, house to truck.
ReplyDeleteashley_savory@hotmail.com
I eat breakfast at work during the week, so that varies by season. Summer it is more cereal bar or cereal with fruit and when it is cooler I eat oatmeal or grits with fruit chopped up in them. I also will have english muffin phases as well.
ReplyDeleteI love to eat cereal from a cup with a cup of milk or a cereal bar. I find I can't think straight w/o breakfast, or is that my excuse? Who am I kidding, I have kids, I can never think straight!
ReplyDeleteI almost never miss a day of eating a nice cold bowl of cereal for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI'm boring because I eat almost the same breakfast every day -- low fat cottage cheese mixed with a high fiber cereal or granola and a sliced up banana. It's the perfect blend of protein, fiber, and a little fat to make sure the nutrients are all absorbed, and it keeps me full for hours =)
ReplyDeleteI grab a protein bar!
ReplyDeletekmassman gmail
i really try to sit down with my daughter and have at least a bowl of cerial...
ReplyDeleteI grab a Luna bar...delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually into big breakfasts. I usually just have a cup of yogurt on the go!

ReplyDeletebreakfast is my most favorite of meals, and if i could, i would eat it for every meal!
ReplyDeletebut when i'm busy, i grab a banana, a protein shake or a LaraBar to keep me satisfied until i have time for something more substantial.

ReplyDeleteUsually when I am in a rush to get to class I grab a banana and a granola bar to eat in class!

I rarely miss breakfast, but if I do I'll grab a cheese stick. However, If I happen to be driving by anyplace that might have a scone, I have to get one (even if I've already eaten)
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm in a big hurry, I grab a granola bar.
ReplyDeletemami2jcn at gmail dot com
My on-the-go breakfast is usually a Larabar or some other variety of granola bar and a banana. And of course coffee! :)
ReplyDeletericki_22@hotmail.com
My kids are HUGE breakfast eaters...it's a MUST in the morning! And cereal does NOT cut it in our house. However, I have 3 kids under 4 and a husband to get out the door - so I rarely get to sit down to a breakfast. I usually make waffles for my 3 and 2 year old, some cheerios on the table for my 9 month old and some eggs for my husband. Meanwhile, I make myself some peanut butter or cinnamon toast and "snack" off everyone else's plates :)
ReplyDeleteIf I run out of time, then I eat a fiber bar or some kind of cereal bar.
ReplyDeleteruthaw_1974@yahoo.com
I get up in plenty of time that I have a good 20 extra minutes to myself after I get ready to eat a bite before I have to get the kids up and running. That way I'm not rushed and they aren't rushed. Jenn
ReplyDeleteOh duh - I eat ceral or toast! Jenn

I make a bunch of waffles one day and throw them in the freezer. Then they are all ready to microwave. Also, granola bars and bananas are good for on the go.
ReplyDeletesims.whitney@gmail.com
I love breakfast and thankfully so does the rest of the family!
ReplyDeleteWe do a lot of french toast! I personally love just some really good bread, slightly toasted with some butter!
I am also a fan of those new Nature Valley thin granola bar goodies!
This is bad but if I don't have time I just run to starbucks and get a coffee and bagel and then go on my way.
ReplyDeletesassyarahl@hotmail.com
I never make time for breakfast in the morning, so my go to is a cup of coffee, or lately since it's been so hot, iced coffee!
ReplyDeleteOatmeal...I don't know why I love oatmeal so much.
ReplyDeleteI like to have cut up fruit in greek yogurt with a few almonds or pecans on the top or applesauce and cottage cheese with nuts on top.
ReplyDeleteI like mixing in some walnuts with my blueberry greek yogurt. The extra protein from the walnuts really helps boost the protein that's already in the yogurt and it's nice to have something to crunch. I just stick the walnuts right into the container so it's definitely handy for on-the-go breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI am a Car Eater. Horrible, I know. but, hey...Go-Gurt isn't just for kids!
ReplyDeletetleaht@gmail.com
I am not really a breakfast person, but I love a bowl of Frosted Flakes. I know it has tons of sugar, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteI usually eat cereal or instant oatmeal. It's quick enough that I can eat it even with the morning rush.
ReplyDeleteI always have granola bars and bananas on hand for those mornings I don't have time to squeeze in breakfast.
ReplyDeleteFruit is my go to until I can sit and eat breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI grab a protein shake!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't miss breakfast, but if I do, I would grab a piece of fruit and baggie of cereal.

ReplyDeletejeanette_kirkham at yahoo dot com
I'm a big fan of the peanut butter nature valley bars. Tasty:)
ReplyDeletekatie.sabin@gmail.com
I always eat breakfast, but I hate to eat the same thing everyday. Often I freeze pancakes or waffles so that I can have them over the coming weeks.
ReplyDeletemattvaleiler at gmail dot com
being on a low-gluten diet for the family, we usually have spelt something. spelt toast, spelt pancakes, spelt blueberry muffins, or yogurt with fruit. no dry cereals, because gluten free cereals are so durn expensive and my 3 kids just shovel it into their mouths without a thought that this box is for EVERYONE and is supposed to last MORE THAN ONE DAY!!! yes, cereal is a treat at our house.
ReplyDeleteframeofdust@hotmail.com
Most of the time its a sit down breakfast but when I can't I grab a granola bar to eat in the car.
ReplyDeleteI'll grab a Clif bar or banana and yogurt for the car. :)
ReplyDeleteI do not miss breakfast! If I am running out the door I grab a granola bar though.
ReplyDeletesmoothies. We homeschool, though, so while some mornings we are definitely pressed for time, we aren't usually having to run out the door!
ReplyDeleteI eat cereal almost every morning before I go running. But on mornings when I don't have to run I like to make biscuts and eat them with grape jelly. It's what my mum used to make me for breakfast on my birthday and other special occasions and they are still my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm pregnant, so I wake up starving. If I don't have time for breakfast, I eat it anyway and am late. Not only when I'm preggo, though. I always love my breakfast. :)
ReplyDeleteThis morning I had blueberry pancakes that I had frozen from yesterday's breakfast..heated and rolled up, no butter or syrup and a glass of milk. Usually though, if we're going for quick it's cold cereal in a baggie.
ReplyDeleteI am a kid at heart and have me a big bowl of froot loops!
ReplyDeleteI love breakfast... but when I am in a rush, I usually reach for the yogurt & granola. I love it! I can always eat a bowl of cereal, but yogurt is just so much more on the go. no sloshing milk as your running around trying to get the kids on the move.
ReplyDeleteIn a pinch, a banana and a ziploc of granola I can eat on my way to work!
ReplyDeleteI like to have a quick and easy granola bar in between the first 2 classes I teach. I'm normally too sleepy to eat before I go to work
ReplyDeleteWe keep cliff bars on hand. Lots of protein and they taste pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a breakfast person... in fact I usually don't even realize I haven't eaten by the time it's 10am. And I'm certainly not a cereal gal. But I do like oatmeal on occasion or a half of a 6-grain bagel toasted. And I usually eat a piece of fruit in the morning. I also like fruit smoothies (with yogurt) sometiems as well.

We always eat cereal or a granola bar. Very good to eat and quick!
ReplyDeleteleahforlove(at)aol(dot)com
OH baby I HAVE to have breakfast or I'm starving all day long. At least that is what it feels like! HA! If I don't have time I'll grab anything to hold me over until the boys leave the door. Lately that means grabbing some of the baby's snack: nilla wafers, graham crackers, toast... When I have time to make my turkey bacon with one egg on a piece of wheat toast the world can resume spinning.
ReplyDeleteCraftedByAuntyEm@gmail.com
I make smoothies with yogurt, frozen fruit and juice. Super easy and quick.
ReplyDeleteIn an effort to battle the bulge, I have added greek yogurt to my breakfast diet. i used to eat cereal with soy milk, but now I feel like get as much protein as an egg and it tastes way better.
ReplyDeleteI make and freeze frittatas with swiss cheese and spinach, sliced. They are easily microwaved and put on a toasted english muffin. Makes a great sandwich to go.
ReplyDeleteWhen I cannot sit down for breakfast I try and find some fresh fruit on the go. Or I must admit if I don't have anything in the house it is a fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonalds.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a breakfast person, I don't feel like I can get through the day if I don't have it. I'm a big cereal person, but when school starts I eat either a Jimmy Dean turkey sausage, egg white, and english muffin sandwich, or some yogurt and a banana.
ReplyDeleteI do eat breakfast - the most important meal of the day. My usual breakfast is an English muffin with crunchy peanut butter and sometimes some jelly. And of course, some orange juice. I always make time for breakfast.

ReplyDeleteA banana or a bowl of cereal, something with almonds!

I'm a breakfast girl, too---EVERY morning! I can skip lunch or even supper sometimes, but I can't every skip breakfast! If I don't have time to sit down and eat (at the computer, usually) I grab a Special K bar.
ReplyDeleteI have to eat breakfast! I couldn't go long without it. If I really have no time I eat a Fiber One bar - but that doesn't happen too often!
ReplyDeleteJayme C: I'm not a breakfast person. Never have been. But if I need to eat something to tie me over until lunch I grab a small glass of milk and a slice of wheat bread.
ReplyDeletejaytensen@gmail.com
When I'm late or not, I call to the hubby to whip up a smoothie, any kind (so far) and they are great!
ReplyDeleteDianne
I like to have breakfast or granola bars handy for a quick breakfast!
ReplyDeletecrafts@oursideofthemountain[dot]com
I love leftovers for breakfast...pizza, lasagna, enchiladas, anything dinner-y is good with me. Strangely I love dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. We had pancakes tonight. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI ardly ever get a sit down meal, and when I do get a chance to sit down I find I'm not even hungry and it's time to start cleaning.
ReplyDeleteSo I usually grab whatever I can find, I wish I would keep granola bars more or make yougart more often, but sady this is an area I fall in.
Vedodili@gmail.com
Sit down breakfasts are Daddy's treat on the weekend-he cooks for all of us. My go-to breakfast of choice is yogurt, a banana, and a HUGE glass of water.
ReplyDeleteA nice sit-down breakfast is rare around here-- although we could have it, we just don't. I usually go for Pop Tarts, cereal bars or PB&J or some other "breakfast-y" sandwich.

ReplyDeleteI'm also guilty of grabbing a yogurt in the mornings. Or, a slice of toast with a bit of apricot jam and a glass of milk.
ReplyDeleteMy stomach is the very last part of me to wake up in the morning so I don't like breakfast until 9 or so. Yea, yea, I know it's the most important meal of the day, but what's a girl to do? For me, I grab a tall glass and fill it up with Simply Orange and that seems to be enough to hold me over til lunch.
ReplyDeletedunns99@msn.com
I can't leave the house without a bowl of cereal!! usually i do it in front of the computer (like i do right now :-)).
ReplyDeletegalitw222@gmail.com
I very rarely sit down with my kids for breakfast. They normally eat before I do and they have toast or cereal. If it's a really rushed day, they will have dry cereal on the go. I usually have a Diet Coke (or two) before I eat. I like bagels or toast the best for breakfast. carmencita_1975 at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI always keep small tubs of yogurt and granola bars in the house so I can grab and go.
ReplyDeleteBanana is the old standby for when we are in a rush, but for me it has to be slightly green without even a touch of brown!
ReplyDeleteMegJill at

I always try to eat breakfast or else I get grumpy!!! My solution is those little paper cups - bigger than bathroom cups, but not a Solo size cup. I fill it will cereal (which is about a serving, by the way) and eat it while I'm driving my preschooler to school. And of course I have my coffee - can't function without that!
ReplyDeleteon a good day i like to eat a bowl of cereal- honey bunches of oat with 2% milk or yogurt and granola with some strawberries. however these good days only come when i get up when im supposed to. so for the most part i skip or eat an early lunch.
ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeletejsschlitt@sbcglobal.net
I really like the combo of crunch granola bar and an apple. Kind of like apple crisp!
ReplyDeleteI have a 2 month old baby so I rarely sit down for breakfast! Morning routine: baby goes in swing. I scarf down whatever I can. Pick baby back up before he starts to cry (he's not a big fan of the swing). Usually breakfast is fruit or a granola bar.
ReplyDeletejhull@m.marywood.edu
Coffee (a MUST at my house!) & a banana...what I like even better is to have already made a baked oatmeal & I can just warm it up lickety split. Let's just say that it doesn't happen often enough! :)
ReplyDeleteIf I can't sit down for breakfast I'll grab some energy bar, but it's not the same and if it happens I'm usually hungry all day long.
ReplyDeletei make a quick power shake to get me going in the morning!
ReplyDeleteYoplait smoothies.
ReplyDeletechinlai@bellsouth.net
Smoothies are my thing; I add granola to the yogurt/fruit/milk mix to give it staying power till lunch.
ReplyDeleteGranola bars do the trick in our house!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big breakfast person. I usually eat a peach or a banana in the morning and have a glass of chocolate milk. But your yogurt and granola in the photo are looking mighty good to me right now...
ReplyDeleteGranola bars are a Godsend, and also I love Carnation instant breakfast- a milkshake in the morning!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up I was never a breakfast eater, but as I have grown older, and wiser I know how important breakfast is. Despite my lack of being a good role model, both of my children are breakfast eaters, my son eats cereal even if we are offering other options. My daughter is a yogurt and granola lover and that is what I eat now too - though I have switched to Greek yogurt, I seem to get more bang for my buck with the Greek yogurt, but it's an acquired taste.
ReplyDeleteWhen we're in a hurry, we grab a bag of homemade granola to munch on in the car.
ReplyDeleteI am a big breakfast person, but on extra busy days, I like a yogurt with granola, or I'll have an instant breakfast drink.
ReplyDeleteCoffee & poptarts in the car!
ReplyDeleteI will toast Eggo waffles and eat in the car. I know, bad!!! switchlaser@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would grab a granola bar, but honestly, I don't let myself skimp breakfast unless it's absolutely necessary. Breakfast is just too important for my day.
ReplyDeletejocelynmateos at gmail dot com
I am the kind that grabs something and eats on the run. I have just discovered toaster waffles with peanut butter on them!! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a morning person at all. I like cereal, but almost never for breakfast (I usually go for something warm, like a waffle, muffin, banana nut bread, etc.). But to save time in the mornings I make those things in big batches ahead of time and freeze them, so I can pull a waffle quickly from the freezer, or a pre-sliced piece of banana nut bread, etc. on the go.
ReplyDeletekarenwatkins75@gmail.com
not that i do it often but...cold pizza is sure yummy :)

ReplyDeletelove toast. I have toast all the time. with my coffee. Or if I literally have to run out the door, a zone bar is always good in a pinch.
ReplyDeletecourtney.mommieblogs at gmail dot com
My on-the-go breakfast is a handful of Costco peanuts, a smaller handful of raisins and an equal amount of Craisins tossed in a little bowl. It's a great munching breakfast, a little sweet, a little salty and is great in the car. I do this far too often.
ReplyDeleteI'm always running behind in the mornings, so I hard-boil eggs on Sunday afternoon and bring them to work with me all week.
ReplyDeletehdsjwp@msn.com
I tend to get sick to my stomach if I eat in the morning, so usually I just have an early lunch after my first couple classes, when my stomach has woken up.

coffee and peanut butter crackers. Terrible I know!
ReplyDeleteCoffee and a handful of raw almonds.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's cause I always had breakfast growing up, but I cannot go without eating all morning. Plus, my kids always eat, so I eat whatever I make them...pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, smoothies, yogurt, eggs. We like it all!

Didn't your mother teach you breakfast is the most important meal of the day? If I'm in a hurry I'll whip up some protein powder with almond milk.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat much but if I'm low on energy I have milk or orange juice.
ReplyDeleteDaisie1238@yahoo.com
cereal is usually my go to breakfast. I also like yogurt with granola!
ReplyDeletekasamz@hotmail.com
Quick cereal bar/granola bar is my favorite grab-n-go breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI try to sit down and eat something every morning, but for those I'm running late mornings I get the kids fed and I down a cup of orange juice and then often eat a Larabar because they fill me up and I know they're only filled with good for me things...then I try to stay away from the cookies or snacks until lunch. I did say try, I'm not always succesful! ;)
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!

ReplyDeletei almost never get to sit down for breakfast. well, i sit down in the car or on the bus, but not at a table. usually it's a granola bar or yogurt (if im on the bus and not driving), or, if i don't feel like something sweet-ish i'll have a hard boiled egg and/or a stick of cheese.

I eat at my desk during the week and if possible I have Cheerios, skim milk and blueberries during hot weather. When it starts getting cool and downright cold, I switch to hot oatmeal with blueberries that I froze over the summer, pecans and Splenda brown sugar. That gives me plenty of protein and get up and go for the morning. If I have an early morning meeting, I grab a homemade yogurt with some kind of fruit and homemade granola.
ReplyDeleteTHis is tough. I have been known to eat oatmeal while driving. Bad I know. Or a "bar" I love breakfast and have to eat something everyday!

I make what we call egg o' muffin sandwiches and bag them for the freezer on the weekend. Then my 15 yo who is always running late can grab and heat.

When I’m in a rush, I grab a yogurt that I can eat at my desk in the morning, and I always have a can of cashews or almonds in my drawer.

A healthy protein goes down quite easily and it's quick to make.

I grab a banana or a cereal bar when I'm in a hurry!

I grab a yogurt cup and granola bar, or a piece of fruit on the way out the door.

It's sad I have to admit....but when I am running very late and I'm hungry in the morning- I grab whatever leftovers we had from the night before and just eat it cold (pizza, chili, cassarole...).

I have to have breakfast in the mornings...I get up early before anyone else is up and have my cereal in a quiet atmosphere. It sets the tone for my day.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was in grad school trying to finish my thesis, I NEVER had time for breakfast, but I knew I'd be miserable and unproductive if I didn't eat something. The solution to my dilemma? Slim Fast. I could "eat" breakfast in about 10 seconds, and it'd definitely tide me over until lunch. I don't know if I'd want that routine for the rest of my life (thank goodness grad school is over!), but it was such a life saver then! (and on my wedding day!)
ReplyDeleteOkay, so after having a breadmaker gathering dust for umpteen years I finally figured I could use it to have homemade bread ready for an after - church snack. Yeah! I can now say that I use my breadmaker once a week. If the bread doesn't disappear that day (usually 1/3 of a loaf left as we have lots of little people in my family) I now have a FABULOUS treat for breakfast. Warm it up, throw on some honey or strawberry freezer jam and I am super mom for about an hour until everyone else is set for the day and I can sit down and enjoy something more.
ReplyDeleteI like to grab a Clif bar for breakfast.
